What is the Product or Services Feature?​

The Products or Services feature allows you to create and manage detailed listings of your products or services on the Incentise platform. Each product or service entry includes comprehensive information such as category, description, type, purchase model, contact details, and images. These listings serve as the foundation for creating incentive programs, enabling you to offer incentives to customers interested in your offerings.

When you create a product or service, it becomes available for use in incentive programs, allowing customers to discover and request incentives for your offerings.

Prerequisites​

Before you can create a product or service, you must:

  1. Be registered as an user: Complete incentive provider profile setup at https://incentise.com/provider/provider-profile
    • If you haven't set up your incentive provider profile yet, you'll see an error message asking you to complete your setup first

Where to Find Products or Services​

  • Location:
    Navigate to: https://incentise.com/provider/product-services in your provider dashboard

  • Access:
    The Products or Services dashboard is accessible from your provider dashboard navigation menu

Understanding the Products or Services Dashboard​

When you access the Products or Services page, you'll see:

Dashboard Components​

  1. Search Bar: Located at the top-left, allows you to search products/services by:

    • Product/Service ID (numeric search)
    • Product/Service Name (text search)

  2. Pagination Controls:

    • Rows per page selector (5, 10, 20, or 50)
    • Page navigation buttons (Previous/Next)
    • Page number buttons for direct navigation
    • Display showing "Showing X to Y of Z entries"

  3. Add Product & Service Button: Located at the top-right, opens the form to create a new product or service

  4. Products/Services Table: Displays all your products/services with the following information:

    • Product Service ID: A unique number assigned to each product/service
    • Name: The name of your product or service
    • Provider: Your business name
    • Category: The category your product/service belongs to
    • Type: Shows whether it's a "PRODUCT" or "SERVICE"
    • Purchase Type: Shows whether it's "SUBSCRIPTION" or "ONE_TIME"
    • Description: Your short description (if it's long, you can hover over it to see the full text)
    • Created: The date and time when you created the product/service
    • Action: A menu (three dots icon) where you can select "Edit" to make changes

Product/Service Types​

Understanding the different types and classifications:

Product Service Type​

Step-by-Step Guide​

Step 1: Creating a New Product or Service​

  1. Navigate to Products or Services: Go to https://incentise.com/provider/product-services in your dashboard

  2. Click "Add Product & Service": The button is located at the top-right of the products/services table

  3. Fill Out the Form:

    Required Fields:​

    • Category:

      • Click the dropdown menu to see available categories
      • You can search by typing the category name
      • Select the category that best fits your product or service
      • This field is required

    • Name:

      • Enter a unique name for your product or service
      • This name must be unique across all products/services
      • This field is required
      • Note: If a product/service with the same name already exists, you'll see an error message asking you to choose a different name

    • Type:

      • Select either "PRODUCT" or "SERVICE" from the dropdown
      • This field is required

    • Purchase Type:

      • Select either "SUBSCRIPTION" or "ONE_TIME" from the dropdown
      • This field is required

    • Website URL:

      • Enter the website address where customers can learn more or purchase
      • Make sure to include the full address starting with "https://"
      • Example: https://example.com
      • This field is required

    • Contact Email:

      • Enter an email address where customers can reach you with inquiries
      • Make sure to use a valid email format
      • Example: [email protected]
      • This field is required

    Optional Fields:​

    • Short Description:

      • Enter a brief summary of your product or service
      • This will be displayed in the products/services table
      • Keep it concise and informative

    • Description:

      • Enter a detailed description of your product or service
      • Use this field to provide comprehensive information about features, benefits, and use cases

    • Image:

      • Upload a picture or logo for your product or service
      • This helps customers identify your offering
      • This is optional but recommended for better presentation

  4. Submit the Form:

    • Click the "Save" button to create the product/service
    • Or click "Cancel" to discard your changes and return to the list

  5. Success:

    • Upon successful creation, you'll be redirected or see a success message
    • The new product/service will appear in your products/services list

Step 2: Viewing Your Products or Services​

  1. Access the List: Navigate to https://incentise.com/provider/product-services

  2. Browse the Table:

    • All your products/services are displayed in a table format
    • The list is sorted by creation date (newest first)

  3. Search for Specific Items:

    • Use the search bar to find products/services by:
      • ID: Enter a numeric ID to find a specific product/service
      • Name: Type part of the product/service name to filter results
    • Search results update automatically as you type

  4. Navigate Pages:

    • Use pagination controls to navigate through multiple pages
    • Adjust "Rows per page" to show more or fewer items at once
    • Use Previous/Next buttons or click page numbers directly

Step 3: Editing a Product or Service​

  1. Locate the Product/Service:

    • Find the product/service you want to edit in the table
    • You can use the search function to locate it quickly

  2. Open the Edit Form:

    • Click the Action dropdown menu (three dots icon) in the row
    • Select "Edit" from the dropdown
    • You'll be taken to the edit page

  3. Modify the Information:

    • You can update any of the fields:
      • Category
      • Name (must still be unique)
      • Short Description
      • Description
      • Type (PRODUCT or SERVICE)
      • Purchase Type (SUBSCRIPTION or ONE_TIME)
      • Website URL
      • Contact Email
      • Image (upload a new image to replace the existing one)

  4. Save Changes:

    • Click "Save" to update the product/service
    • Or click "Cancel" to discard changes and return to the list

  5. If You See an Error:

    • If the name you entered already exists, you'll see an error message asking you to choose a different name
    • Make sure you've selected a valid category from the dropdown

Step 4: Understanding Product/Service Information​

Each product or service listing includes the following details:

  • Name: The name of your product or service
  • Category: The category your product/service belongs to
  • Short Description: A brief summary that appears in listings
  • Description: Full detailed information about your offering
  • Type: Whether it's a PRODUCT or SERVICE
  • Purchase Type: Whether it's a ONE_TIME purchase or SUBSCRIPTION
  • Website URL: The web address where customers can learn more
  • Contact Email: Email address for customer inquiries
  • Image: Picture or logo representing your product/service
  • Created Date: When the product/service was first created
  • Last Updated: When the product/service was last modified

Common Tasks​

Searching for Products/Services​

By ID Number:

  • If you know the ID number of a product/service, enter it in the search bar
  • The system will find the matching product/service

By Name:

  • Type part of the product/service name in the search bar
  • You don't need to type the full name - partial matches will work
  • The search is not case-sensitive, so you can type in any combination of uppercase or lowercase letters
  • Results appear automatically as you type

Viewing Your List​

  • Your products/services are automatically sorted with the newest ones appearing first
  • If you have many products/services, use the page navigation buttons to see more
  • You can choose how many items to show per page (5, 10, 20, or 50) using the dropdown menu

Managing Multiple Products/Services​

  • You can create as many products/services as you need
  • Each product/service is separate and independent
  • Each product/service can be used to create one incentive program
  • When creating an incentive program, you'll only see products/services that don't already have an incentive program

Best Practices​

  1. Naming Conventions:

    • Use clear, descriptive names that customers will understand
    • Avoid generic names that could conflict with other products/services
    • Include key differentiators in the name if needed

  2. Descriptions:

    • Write compelling short descriptions that capture attention
    • Use detailed descriptions to provide comprehensive information
    • Include key features, benefits, and use cases

  3. Categorization:

    • Select the most appropriate category for better discoverability
    • Categories help organize and filter products/services

  4. Images:

    • Upload clear, high-quality pictures that represent your product/service well
    • Good images help customers quickly identify and understand your offerings

  5. Contact Information:

    • Provide accurate website URLs and contact emails
    • Ensure contact information is current and monitored
    • This information helps customers reach out with questions

  6. Type Selection:

    • Choose PRODUCT vs SERVICE accurately
    • Select the correct purchase type (ONE_TIME vs SUBSCRIPTION)
    • These selections affect how your offering is presented and categorized

Troubleshooting​

Error: Incentive Provider Setup Required​

Problem: You haven't completed your incentive provider setup yet.

Solution:

  1. Go to Provider Profile in your dashboard (https://incentise.com/provider/provider-profile)
  2. Complete your incentive provider profile information
  3. Once your profile is set up, return to create your product/service

Error: Product/Service Name Already Exists​

Problem: You're trying to create a product/service with a name that's already being used.

Solution:

  • Choose a different name for your product/service
  • Try adding a version number, date, or other detail to make it unique
  • For example, instead of "Software Tool", try "Software Tool 2024" or "Software Tool - Premium"

Error: Category Not Found​

Problem: The category you selected doesn't exist or isn't available.

Solution:

  • Select a different category from the dropdown menu
  • If you believe a category should be available, contact support for assistance

Product/Service Not Showing in List​

What to Check:

  • Make sure you're searching with the correct name or ID
  • Check if you're on a different page - use the page navigation buttons
  • Verify that the product/service was successfully created (you should have seen a success message)
  • Try clearing your search to see all products/services

Cannot Edit Product/Service​

What to Check:

  • Make sure you're logged in with the correct account
  • Verify that you created the product/service or have permission to edit it
  • Try refreshing the page and attempting to edit again

How Products/Services Work with Other Features​

Incentive Programs​

  • When you create an incentive program, you'll need to select a product or service
  • Each product/service can only be used for one incentive program
  • If a product/service already has an incentive program, it won't appear in the selection list when creating a new program
  • This helps keep your offerings organized and prevents confusion

Your Business Profile​

  • All products/services you create are automatically linked to your business account
  • This means they're properly associated with your company
  • Customers will see your business name when viewing your products/services
