Incentive acknowledgements

This guide explains what an incentive acknowledgment is, how acknowledgment requests work, how to use Incentive Acknowledgement Request Templates (reusable links), and how to embed the incentive acknowledgement widget on your own website.

What is an incentive acknowledgment?

An incentive acknowledgment is the step after someone has already received an incentive from you (cashback, discount, credit, gift, trial, etc.—usually delivered through your own systems).

The recipient opens your invitation and confirms that they received the incentive. As part of that flow they submit a message. That message often:

  • Confirms receipt (“I received the discount / credit / gift…”), and
  • May include a thank you or short note because they already got value from you.

Those confirmations become verifiable social proof tied to your brand and offering (subject to your review and product rules). They are not a way for people to ask for new incentives inside Incentise—they acknowledge what you already delivered.

Two places in the provider app

AreaURL (path)What it is for
Incentive Acknowledgements/provider/incentive-acknowledgementsList of completed acknowledgments from recipients (submitted confirmations) for your products or services.
Incentive Acknowledgement Requests/provider/incentive-acknowledgements/requestsInvitations you send (or links you share) asking someone to confirm receipt—before or until they complete the flow.
Incentive Acknowledgement Request Templates/provider/incentive-acknowledgements/requests/link-templatesReusable acknowledgment links for the same settings, with a maximum number of uses and a uses counter.

The embed screen for a specific acknowledgment is opened from the Acknowledgements list (see Embed the incentive acknowledgement widget below).

Sidebar labels may say Acknowledgements; the paths above are the reliable way to open each screen.

Prerequisites

Before creating a request or template:

  1. Provider profile — Set up your business (provider profile setup).
  2. Product or service — Add the catalog item (products & services).
  3. Incentive program — Create and attach a program to that item (incentive programs). The form will ask you to pick a program.
  4. For email delivery, you need the recipient’s email address.

Incentive Acknowledgement Requests (single invitations)

What a “request” means here

An Incentive Acknowledgement Request is your outreach to one recipient: “You received this incentive—please confirm (and you may thank us) via this flow.” It is not an incentive offer or request marketplace feature; it is acknowledgment-only.

Request list page

  • Title: Incentive Acknowledgement Requests
  • Subtitle: List of all incentive acknowledgement requests

You’ll typically see:

  • Search — Find rows by keywords (email, product, message, etc., depending on implementation).
  • Rows per page — e.g. 5, 10, 20, 50.
  • Create Incentive Acknowledgement Request — Opens the creation form.
  • Incentive Acknowledgement Request Templates — Goes to the templates list.

Table columns (as shown in the app) commonly include:

  • Recipient Email
  • Product/Service Name (link to the public program context)
  • Message (link to the submission page for that invitation)
  • Incentive Type
  • Status — e.g. Pending (not completed) or Acknowledged (recipient submitted confirmation)
  • Created
  • Actions — e.g. Copy Link to Recipient (for Link delivery while still pending), View Incentive Program, etc.

Create a single request

Path: /provider/incentive-acknowledgements/requests/add

1. Incentive program (required)
Choose the program tied to the product/service this acknowledgment is for.

2. Delivery method (required)
The UI asks how you want to deliver the message (wording may mention “incentive offer message”—functionally it is your acknowledgment invitation):

  • Email — Sends an email to the recipient. You must fill Recipient email address and optional Subject (length limit shown in the form, e.g. up to 64 characters for subject).
  • Link — No email is sent by this path; you get a link to share yourself (QR code, SMS, chat, etc.). Use Copy Link to Recipient from the requests table when the row is still pending.

3. Audience (entity) (required)
Select what best describes the recipient audience (e.g. individual vs business), using the “What best describes your target audience” control.

4. Incentive type (required)
Matches the kind of value they received (cashback, discount, etc.).

5. Incentive distribution value (required)
What they got, in plain text (e.g. $50, 20%, 1 month free).

6. Description (optional)
Extra context (when/where/how the incentive was delivered).

7. Message (required)
Your note to the recipient—what appears in the invitation. Encourage them to confirm receipt; thank-yous in their reply happen on the submission side. Use the template carousel under the field if you want starter text, then edit in your voice. Respect the character limit shown in the UI (often up to 2,048 characters).

8. Submit
After success you are usually returned to the requests list; email invitations are sent when delivery is Email.

Statuses

StatusMeaning
PendingInvitation sent or link created; recipient has not finished the acknowledgment flow.
AcknowledgedRecipient submitted the form; their incentive acknowledgment (confirmation message) is recorded.

If your product uses expiring links, treat overdue pending rows as needing a new invitation or follow-up—check in-app behavior or support.

Incentive Acknowledgement Request Templates

Templates let you define one configuration (program, type, message, audience, value text, etc.) and share a stable link many times, up to a maximum number of uses.

Open the templates list

Path: /provider/incentive-acknowledgements/requests/link-templates

  • Title: Incentive Acknowledgement Request Templates
  • Button: Create Incentive Acknowledgement Request Template/provider/incentive-acknowledgements/requests/link-templates/add
  • Back returns to the single-request list.

Table columns typically include:

  • Product/Service Name
  • Message (preview; links to the public submission URL for that template)
  • Incentive Type name
  • Recipient Type (entity)
  • Maximum of uses — Cap on how many people can complete the flow via this template link.
  • Uses — How many times the template has been used so far.
  • Created
  • Actions — e.g.
    • Copy Incentive Acknowledgement Request Link Template — Copies a URL like
      /submit-incentive-acknowledgement-from-invitation-template?template_id=...
    • Edit Incentive Acknowledgement Request Template
    • View Incentive Acknowledgement Request Link Template — Opens the submission page in a new tab.

When to use templates

  • Events, retail, campaigns — Same incentive wording and program for many people; you share one link (signage, email blast footer, landing page).
  • Controlled volumeMaximum of uses limits how many acknowledgments can come through that link.

Create or edit a template

Use Create or Edit from the templates UI. Fields align with a single request (program, entity, incentive type, distribution value, optional description, message). Set maximum number of uses (and any other limits the form shows). Message length is capped in validation (e.g. 2,048 characters in the template schema).

Embed the incentive acknowledgement widget

You can show a small, embeddable widget on your website that loads your incentive acknowledgement social proof for one completed acknowledgment record. It helps visitors see real confirmations tied to that acknowledgment context.

How to open the embed page

  1. Go to Incentive Acknowledgements/provider/incentive-acknowledgements (the list of completed acknowledgments).
  2. Find the row you want to feature.
  3. Open the row menu (three dots) and choose Embed Widget Acknowledgement.

You are taken to:

/provider/incentive-acknowledgements/embed/[acknowledgement_id]

…where [acknowledgement_id] is the system id for that acknowledgment. Use Back on that screen to return to the previous page.

What you see on the embed screen

  • Title: Embed Incentive Acknowledgement Widget
  • Subtitle: Explains that the widget helps build trust and conversions on your site.
  • Take Tour — Optional walkthrough (top of the screen).

Widget configuration

  • Embed code — A ready-made HTML iframe snippet. Default size in the app is typically 320 pixels wide by 120 pixels tall, with rounded corners in the sample style.
  • Copy — Copies the full embed code so you can paste it into your site.
  • Preview widget — Opens the widget URL in a new tab so you can check it live.

Widget preview

  • Shows how the iframe will look on a page, with a short note that this is how it appears on your website.

Installation instructions (on the page)

  1. Copy the embed code — Use the copy control next to the code box.
  2. Paste on your website — Put the code in the HTML where you want the widget (works on any site that allows iframes).
  3. Customize appearance — The in-app text mentions adjusting how content appears; if your product adds controls (for example avatar count), use those labels when present.

How the widget loads

The iframe points at your Incentise site’s /incentive-acknowledgement-widget address, with your incentive_acknowledgement_id in the query string so the correct acknowledgment data loads. Visitors see the hosted widget; you do not need to install JavaScript beyond pasting the iframe.

Tips

  • Pick an acknowledgment that represents strong, clear social proof for the page where you embed it (for example a product or campaign page).
  • Place the iframe where it is visible but not distracting (sidebar, below a hero, or near a call-to-action).
  • If the widget looks cut off, try a slightly larger height in the iframe tag only if your site policy allows layout tweaks—start from the size the app gives you.
  • If nothing loads, confirm the acknowledgment still exists, that your site allows third-party iframes, and that ad blockers are not blocking the frame.

Incentise may also offer a separate embed for incentive program statistics (different URL and setup). See Widget configuration for that flow.

What recipients experience (plain language)

  1. They receive your email or open your shared link.
  2. They land on a submit page for that invitation or template.
  3. They confirm they received the incentive and submit their message (thanks, confirmation, or both, depending on what you asked and what they write).
  4. Your list moves from Pending to Acknowledged (for that invitation), and the acknowledgment can feed social proof elsewhere in the product.

Recipients do not need an Incentise account for the basic flow in many setups; behavior matches what you see when testing a link.

Quotas and plans

Monthly or plan limits may apply to how many acknowledgment invitations you can create. If the app shows an upgrade or quota message, see pricing or email [email protected].

Best practices

  1. Send soon after delivery — While the incentive is fresh, confirmations and thank-yous come easier.
  2. Be specific in the value field — Reduces confusion and strengthens proof.
  3. Write a clear message — Ask them to confirm receipt; a warm tone invites a genuine thank-you.
  4. Prefer templates for repeats — Same campaign or venue, track uses vs maximum of uses.
  5. Use Link delivery when email is wrong or you hand out URLs on-site; use Email for direct outreach.
  6. Embed acknowledgment widgets on high-trust pages after you have strong completed acknowledgments—use Preview widget before publishing.

Troubleshooting

IssueWhat to try
Cannot create requestCheck program exists, required fields, plan quota, and network; refresh and retry.
Email not receivedWrong address, spam folder, or provider delay; for Link delivery, copy the link from the row actions.
Pending foreverRecipient hasn’t finished; link may expire—create a new request or reshare template if allowed.
Template “full”Uses reached Maximum of uses—create a new template or raise the cap if the product allows.
Wrong product on templateEdit the template and fix the program / fields.
Widget blank or blockedAllow iframes; check acknowledgment id; try Preview widget; disable blockers for your domain.

FAQ

Can I edit a request after creating it?
Usually not; double-check before submit. Create a new invitation if you need to fix mistakes.

What’s the difference between the main Acknowledgements page and Requests?
Acknowledgements = completed records. Requests = invitations and their Pending / Acknowledged state.

Do templates send email?
Templates are built around a shareable link; you distribute it. Single requests can use Email or Link.

Is the acknowledgment widget the same as the program widget?
No. The acknowledgment embed is tied to one acknowledgment record from Incentive AcknowledgementsEmbed Widget Acknowledgement. The program widget (if you use it) is configured from incentive programs—see Widget configuration.
